Have fun turning your favorite photos into modern decor with a DIY Photo Terrarium! Perfect for offices, centerpieces, living room decor, and they also make for fantastic gifts!
Fill them with pebbles or marbles, to hold pens, faux flowers, or as in this example, a candle! Whatever you'd like to have it fit perfectly with your home decor.
Let's get to it!
Supplies:
- Glass, geodesic terrarium from local craft store
- 10 photo prints (or however many are needed per side!)
- Hot glue
- Piece of computer paper
- Scissors
- Pen
- Other Fun Options: pebbles & a candle
1. Select & Order Your Favorite Photos!
For this specific terrarium, each side was roughly 4x4", so I chose the closest size to it, and ordered 5x5" prints. I ordered one per side, and added some extras in case disaster struck (mistakes happen and that's okay!)
2. Make Your Stencil
Take your piece of computer paper and put it up against one side of your terrarium.
Trace the shape and cut along the markings. Voila! You have your stencil!
3. Cut Your Photos to Size
Put your stencil up to the BACK-SIDE of each of your photos (as to not damage or mark the front image) & trace along the edges of the diagonal corners
Cut along these marks for perfectly shaped prints!
4. Glue Your Prints Inside Your Terrarium
One at a time, put hot glue sparingly along the edges of where you'll place the photo
Place the photo gently into each space
Repeat for each side!
5. Fill Your Terrarium!
This last step is optional, but I suggest going for it and have fun getting creative! For mine, I chose dark colored, rounded pebbles with a wide, singular candle.
