LIMIT: 5 ORIGINALS PER CUSTOMER/household

Do you have original, physical prints that you need copied? Richmond Camera has over 80 years experience of duplicating your cherished memories. Your original prints are reviewed with you with one of our technicians here at the store. We will photograph or scan your original, then order archival copies, and carefully package up your new photographic prints alongside your originals, for pickup in-store! It’s incredibly easy to have us make high quality copies of your prints, that will last a lifetime.

NOTE: If you are ordering sizes/products not available at our in-store kiosks, we will instead just scan the item(s) to USB, and you can order the items online, using the digital files.

8x12 and smaller prints are scanned at 600dpi. | Prints larger than 8x12 are photographed at 300dpi.

We do NOT accept:

  • More than 5 original prints at a time. Otherwise, you will be prompted to simply have us scan them to USB, and you can order prints from the resulting USB drive.

  • Albums, books

  • Newspapers or magazines (or pages from them)

  • Framed prints (customer needs to remove from frame BEFORE dropping off with us)

  • Original prints larger than 16x20

  • Original artwork

  • Copyrighted work (ex: Olan Mills, Lifetouch, etc.) unless you also simultaneously drop off written permission from the photographer/studio/rights owner

  • Prints we deem too fragile to be handled by our technicians

  • Prints that have adhesive material that would damage our equipment

Frequently asked questions

  • The general rule is that your new print can be up to double the size of the original, if the original is sharp and clear. Technicians can review your image in person to give you a more precise answer regarding your specific print.

  • Non-standard (custom) sizes can be ordered as well. They are priced at the next larger print size, plus an additional $15/print.

  • Due to workloads, we cannot scan/photograph your original print while you wait. You will need to leave it at our location. However, you have the peace of mind that your originals never need to leave our facility.

  • We can only print one-side. The other side is reserved for informational text from the print lab.

  • While you are more than welcome to ship work to our retail location, we do NOT ship back to you. You would need to pick up completed work at our location, or you could arrange for someone else to pick up the order. We also highly caution against shipping original, irreplaceable items through any shipping service.

  • Due to different processes, paper, paper coatings, and how light may react to those variations, it is not possible to guarantee a 100% match. However, we will try our best to get the new prints as close as possible to the original. If you have specific questions about the color, please discuss with our technicians upon dropping off the order in our store.

  • If you choose a different size for your new prints, the new size may not have the same aspect ratio as the original. Our technicians can explain the cropping to you if you’d like. Please be sure to discuss with them when dropping off the order.

  • We do not store the digital files (created during this process) beyond 7-10 days. If you think you may want to re-order additional prints at a later date, you should add a CD or USB to your order, so that you can keep the digital files, even after they have been purged from our systems.

  • We do not offer matting and framing services, but we do offer mounting services. We have samples in-store for you to select when you drop off your order.
