MARCH 2023

  • March 22 - We have added large format printing to our in-store kiosks! This means you can print up to 20x30 now, faster than any other camera shop in Virginia. Prints are ready same or next day, as are all of our kiosk prints. To order, stop by the store with your USB drive, memory card, or smartphone (keep in mind, that if you have a small digital file, you may be unable to print large format well).

  • March 20 - A new shipment of Savage background paper is coming in today! Keep an eye on that link as we update which colors are back in-stock!

  • March 16 - We have added some digital download options (NOT BY DEFAULT) to some print and film scanning options. Richmond Camera provides NO SUPPORT for digital downloads, and recommends customers continue to select the default USB option if they are not capable of handling their own computer/phone/tablet technical support.

  • March 16-17 - Edward from UsedPhotoPro is here 10a-4p, buying used cameras and lenses. No appointments, first come, first serve. You can also contact them through their website here. You cannot leave gear unattended, drop off gear in advance, etc.

  • March 14 - We have removed shipping options from our in-store kiosks. This is due to unreliable carrier service to pick up our shipping packages. If carrier reliability is addressed, we will reinstate this feature in the future.

  • March 13 - Added Fujifilm contact information to our page detailing repair contact information for the various manufacturers. We are also back to being fully stocked on memory cards, lens caps and LED lighting systems.

  • March 9 - We have temporarily paused accepting any 8mm movie transfer orders due to high volume. Once we’ve been able to get through the backlog, we’ll start back to accepting these orders. Thank you!

  • March 6 - We now have the Fujifilm X100V back in stock after months! Only one in silver, one in black, first come, first serve! (Update: These sold out in less than 24 hours).

  • March 6 - We’ve started carrying chargers for Fujifilm’s NP-W235 batteries, as well as the USB-C direct connect batteries! We also have begun carrying some tripod bags in stock (some tripods include a bag, others you would purchase the bag separately).

  • March 2 - We now have the Manfrotto BeFree GT XPRO Carbon Fiber tripods in stock, designed for macro photography.

  • March 1 - For the first time in almost 15 years, we have increased our online printing prices to accommodate increased costs at the lab. To view the newest pricing, click here to view all the current printing pricing.

FEBRUARY 2023

  • February 28 - We have 25 packs of darkroom paper back in stock, as well as Delta 3200 film (35mm and 120mm).

  • February 20 - We have a very small amount of Kodak Gold and Ultramax 35mm that came in today. In-store purchase only. Update: sold out quickly.

  • February 17 - Greeting cards have been reintroduced on our website for online ordering. Reminder - if you are ordering them IN-STORE (as opposed to online), the only option is flat cards. Online ordering supports both folded and flat cards.

  • February 15 - Recently, we have had great success with improving turnaround times on a few in-store services by limiting the numb of items at dropoff. VHS Transfer was a great example of this, as we are now able to return items to customers in a fraction of the time it used to take. To expand this, we have added dropoff quantity limits to our film processing, slide scanning, gather box dropoffs, print scanning, print from print, and more.

  • February 15 - We just got in shipments of 2CR5 and CR123A batteries for film cameras, and soon we will have the Fujifilm 235 batteries and chargers available in-store! We also got in some new sling bags which will be avail for purchase very soon.

  • February 14 - Our negative scanning and slide scanning are now separate pages, to make it simpler for customers to parse information related only to the service they need.

  • February 8 - For our merchandise, such as Canon equipment, items previously marked as ‘SOLD OUT’ will now show as ‘BACKORDERED’ because that is more accurate as we regularly are awaiting new shipments from manufacturers. If any items are discontinued permanently, they are removed from our website entirely.

  • February 6 - This is the last day that Richmond Pro Lab (a separate company from Richmond Camera) orders will be delivered to Richmond Camera for in-store pickup. If you are a customer of Richmond Pro Lab, an email was sent to you on January 23, 2023 detailing the change. Thank you.

  • February 3 - We have the Canon SX70HS back in stock! We also have the Nikon Z30 Body Only versions now! We also added the upcoming UsedPhotoPro event to our calendar page!

  • February 1 - Today we got in our first shipment of Portra 800 (35mm) in quite some time, along with some 100 and 400 Tmax (both 35mm as well). Check out our current 35mm stock!

JANUARY 2023

    • Phase 1: Duration: 6 weeks. 0 block of Libbie Avenue closed to thru traffic from Cary Street Road to Matoaka Road

    • Phase 2: Duration: 5 weeks. Cary Street Road closed to thru traffic in both directions from Three Chopt Road to Tuckahoe Boulevard

    • Phase 3: Duration: 17 weeks. Eastbound lane of Cary Street Road closed to thru traffic from Three Chopt Road to Tuckahoe Boulevard

  • January 27 - We’re upgrading our MicroSD cards in-store to Promaster’s ‘Rugged’ line. These are impact resistant, waterproof (full submersion up to 72 hours!) and temperature resistant (-13F to 185F). They also have a 48hr replacement guarantee, but you DO need to register with Promaster as listed on the product packaging, prior to filing a claim with Promaster.

  • January 24 - We’ve added a new rugged memory case option on the website. Available online or for in-store purchase.

  • January 23 - Please note that lab turnaround times have improved significantly over the past several weeks. The lab is currently at 5-7 days for online orders.

  • January 23 - We are continuing to roll out digital download options, and may soon be announcing services other than film development to take advantage of the technology (as opposed to traditional CDs and USB drives). Stay tuned for details.

  • January 18th - We are no longer offering file recovery services (example: recovering corrupted or deleted files off of a memory card). This is part of our ongoing initiative to focus more on our core services which are scanning and printing. Our incredibly fast in-store printing is a big part of this initiative, and that program will be growing more in the upcoming months, so stay tuned for new announcements!

  • January 18th - We have simplified our film scanning service. This will make dropoff quicker, and provides a simpler understanding of pricing.

  • January 13 - We’ve added the ability for customers to add a USB drive to their in-store kiosk orders. This is convenient for customers who want to have a USB drive of specific printed images, from a smartphone, CD, memory card, etc. PLEASE NOTE: The USB will only include images of which you have ordered prints (this is NOT a way to backup an entire iPhone, for example)

  • January 12 - Post-holiday restocking has begun! We have lightstands back in stock, TTL cords, various memory cards, batteries, and chargers. To see if we have exactly what you are looking for, click Shop Accessories in our main menu!

  • January 3 - Added 6x8 and 8x24 (panoramic) print sizes to our in-store kiosks. Note: We are in the process of adding much larger in-store printing capabilities to the store. As soon as the large format printing is ready, you will see it shown here as well as our main printing page.

  • January 3 - We have added more LED lighting gear to our lighting page. Two of our newest additions even have smartphone apps to control your lighting setups! We have also upgraded the card readers at our in-store kiosks for simpler and faster usage.

  • January 2 - The store will be closed as part of our New Year’s holiday.

  • December 12 - Added wallet pairs to our in-store printing options.

  • December 8, 9, 10 - UsedPhotoPro will be on-site these three days from 10:00am-4:00pm, purchasing used film/digital camera gear. No appointments needed.

  • December 9 - Upgraded our packaging for in-store kiosk prints to include mailer packaging (rigid enough to mail/ship the prints if needed)!

  • December 7 - Replaced our in-store kiosk monitors with new, much larger monitors for print ordering!

  • December 1 - Film Development service will be undergoing a major change, as we move to digital downloads (no more CD/USB for film dev orders), and adjust pricing as well. Orders placed before December 1 will honor the original request (CD, USB, etc.) and pricing. This will also slightly improve turnaround times. Please note: even though downloads would be available, you would still need to pay in-store and pick up your original negatives, before receiving the digital download email.

November 2022

  • November 30 - Today marks a SIGNIFICANT CHANGE TO OUR STORE KIOSKS. We have purchased and installed high quality printing equipment at our Carytown location for sizes 8x14 and smaller.
