The Rode VideoMic Pro is a true shotgun microphone designed for DSLR cameras, camcorders, and portable audio recorders as a source of primary and reference audio. The ½” condenser capsule provides broadcast-quality audio via its 3.5mm minijack connector, outputting the mono signal to both left and right channels, with an incredibly low self-noise of 14db.  With a super-cardioid polar pattern, it minimizes surrounding audio and focuses on the subject in front of the camera. The Rycote Lyre Shock Mounting separates it from any external physical factors, removing unwanted rumble and vibrations in the microphone. Constructed out of a single piece of hard-wearing thermoplastic, it will never wear out, sag, or snap. The rear face of the microphone provides an easily accessible control panel for the power, filter, and level controls. Along with its native 40Hz-20kHz response, the VideoMic Pro also has a selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz which prevents low end noise such as air conditioners and traffic from being recorded.
